Bringing the coffee shop to you
Scottish Business in the Community
Nicattos are proud to be involved in the Scottish Business in the Community mentoring programme. David spends time every month mentoring a pupil at Craigie High School and has been involved with the project since its introduction into Dundee.
'Mentoring a young person can be one of the most rewarding ways to develop your skills and experience. A mentoring partnership combines staff development with helping to support, encourage and equip young people with the skills to compete in the employment market. A member of staff is paired up with a young person. The aim of the mentor programme is to build the young person's confidence and support them into a positive work or training destination.' (Excerpt from SBC literature)
David had found the experience extremely rewarding and believes that the mentoring sessions really do make a difference to the pupil. This year marks the third round of mentoring following the success of the last four years. Dundee City Council have now taken over the day to day running of the programme but they are still looking for volunteers.
Charities & Organisations
When we set up Nicattos we wanted to make sure we were involved in our local community as much as possible, part of our company philosophy is that for a business to be a success and be welcomed by people it needs to give something back to the community. Every year we have been proud to support numerous charities from large to small. Our charitable donations were over £2000 last year and we want to continue to help where we can. If your organisation would benefit from our van service at an event, we offer attendance free of charge as well as donating part of our profits back.
We are also committed to supporting other local businesses wherever we can, our coffee comes from the fantastic Braithwaites in Dundee. Our milk comes from Kerr Dairy, a large portion of our fresh stock comes from Grewars Farm Shop and Arbuckles Farm Shop.
Proud also to be members of the Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce and the
Federation of Small Businesses.
